Tutoring

Are you looking for a Literature or Creative Writing tutor?

Nina Ellis

I am an experienced tutor, teacher, writer and editor. I gained my BA and MA (Cantab) at the University of Cambridge in 2011, and was awarded my teaching qualifications (both QTS and PGCE) from the Institute of Education in 2015 and 2016. I also recently completed an MA at University College London, in English and American Literature, for which I achieved the highest Distinction in my cohort and was nominated to the 2018 UCL Dean’s List. I taught English Literature and Language in a London secondary school (graded "Outstanding" by OFSTED) for five years, from 2014 to 2019, where my students achieved consistently excellent results. Alongside my teaching and studies, I have worked as a tutor for over ten years.

I offer high-quality tuition for GCSE, A-Level and university students, as well as for adults. I am knowledgeable in many areas of English and American Language and Literature, with specialisms in Shakespeare, Victorian Literature, Contemporary Literature, Academic English, University Applications and Job Applications. I am also an education consultant who specialises in helping students with applications to British and American universities. As a graduate of both Cambridge and UCL, I am highly qualified to help students succeed in all stages of their university applications. Finally, I am available for Creative Writing tuition, and for assistance in completing submissions to literary agencies, editors and literary magazines.

Please enquire for availability and current fees. I offer both in-person tuition and Skype tuition, and I am happy to travel.
